the advocate/raising awareness
In memory of her Uncle Wayne Hardy who passed as a result of colorectal cancer, and how it has affected both sides of her family, Kimberly is a strong advocate for colorectal screening. Her uncle didn’t stay abreast of his screenings which cost him his life. As such, it is essential that she continues to raise awareness for this cause. Colorectal cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer if caught early. It can save your life or the life of a loved one.

As a friend, cousin, and bonus mother of those who are within the LGBTQ family, it is important to Kimberly to support and fight for full equality for all. The epidemic of hate violence that targets people of color and individuals of the LGBTQ community particularly Black trans,, is an urgent crisis. Human rights should be the red carpet rolled out for everyone.

Raising domestic violence awareness is very close to Kimberly’s heart. She and her mother were both victims of domestic abuse at the violent hands of her stepfather. In order to escape the abuse, Kimberly’s mother escaped with her and the youngest sister when the stepfather was at work. Kimberly’s mother left with nothing—only the clothes on her back. As such, it is paramount that Kimberly continues to be a strong advocate against domestic violence.
